bbno$ eat ya veggies

A self-sufficient star.

The album by bbno$, aka: bbnomula eat ya veggies released October 8, 2021.

But it came out on a separate Bandcamp account for the artist, here:

bbno$ has a separate Bandcamp account which holds over 40 of his previous releases. What happened here?

As I’m writing, he has only one Bandcamp purchase. That seems unbelievable, because his catalogue on the other account gets plenty of love, to say nothing of his streaming success.

But I bet you he won’t notice, because also as I write, he’s on tour. His stops for the week of October 12th are NYC, Philadelphia, and Boston. His tour support comes from the artists [email protected] aka: Lentra (who has credits on three tracks here), Shotgun Willy, and SavageRealm.

The first three tracks on this album flew by. That’s a testament to the smooth feeling from the first beat.

Then I went back and noticed Rebecca Black featured with a hook on “Yoga”, though you’ll have to check in the video:

This song is a great example of how bbno$ hits the spot right between sounding chilled-out and playful. That’s obviously an infectious mood with a broad appeal and a young audience.

His cheesy similes and bits of intro-outro skit material reinforce it, too, without taking up too much space.

The features of Rich Brian on “edamame” and Night Lovell’s deep voice on “2 time zones” are perfect changeups. bbno$ knows how to throw each speed on this self-produced album: he’s a self-sufficient star with experience making hits.

Speaking of hitmakers, Yung Gravy joins bbno$ again on the slow but bouncy “wassup”. Gravy’s voice sounds deeper and clearer than it does on his own hits.

And “i remember” is such a funny collage of indie sounds:

Enjoy this effortless romp of brief tracks. The last track is ridiculous!
