Frankie & The Juicebox, with Francis & Madeleine | RCTV 016
The four-piece rock band play a release show April 11th at Red Gate for their self-titled album, coming out the same day
Francis Henson and Madeleine Elkins talk about Frankie & The Juicebox, their rock band which also includes Sydney Tough on bass and Trent Otter on drums. Francis is the singer-bandleader; he and Madeleine are both guitarists (and teachers). They discuss formative moments in 2022, their first studio session where they recorded almost entirely live, cooking up songs together, themes from Francis' lyrics, and more.
These two musicians are close friends of mine. I've been a fan of Francis since the early days of his career, and he played on my second album, Maybe Eventually. Madeleine and I share a long-enduring friendship and musical relationship, going back to our high school band program.
Frankie & The Juicebox play a release show Saturday, April 11th at Red Gate (with Avery Sloane and Gossip Shop) for their self-titled album, which comes out digitally the same day.
Three members of the band have previously appeared on the Rhythm Changes Podcast: Chris Fraser hosted Trent Otter on episode 119, Madeleine was the guest for Chris' debut on episode 101, and Francis joined me on episode 3 in 2021.
This is the final episode of my series called RCTV. That doesn't mean it's the last video I'll make: far from it. Merely it's the end of this particular series at Rhythm Changes; there are many other things going on here that you can continue to enjoy. Thank you for watching RCTV while I've learned a bit more about making videos.
