Steven Zhu (Cowboy Bebop Bebop Band), is UBC taking over? | RCTV 002
Steven Zhu talks about closing down the 2025 Vancouver International Jazz Festival and selling out the Fox, Hero's Welcome, and more as the drummer and bandleader of the Cowboy Bebop Bebop Band. Steven came to Canada and got to know the Vancouver jazz scene in the early-to-mid-2010s en route to UBC. He has been a central figure in the rise of young musicians from there into the broader scene, via the UBC Jazz Club and connections with Capilano University students. The 10-piece band with three vocalists is roughly half-UBC, half-CapU.
