Top 10 subscriber articles of 2022: gig recaps & launches

On March 11, 2022, I wrote this on social media:

Introducing the Rhythm Changes Update by me, Will Chernoff. I'll write three Updates per week and deliver them to you by email.

The Updates will consist of fun & insightful stories on creative music in Canada, especially the Vancouver scene.

I'm writing stories that you can't get anywhere else.

My promise is that you'll always have local artists to hear and talk about.

While we changed the frequency down from three Updates to one Subscriber Friday, the three claims in bold above are still a good statement of the subscription's value proposition:

  1. Is it fun and insightful?
  2. Can't get it anywhere else?
  3. Does it bring you local artists?

So now, at the end of 2022, I'm curious which articles from the first year have best lived up to this. I'm looking in particular for three-out-of-three scores on those points – in my opinion.

Here they are, in case you missed / want to revisit them. I suppose it's up to you whether or not they're fun and insightful, but the can't get it anywhere else and bring you local artists are more objective.

These 10 articles break down into three categories: gig reviews, launches, and interviews.
