LJ Mounteney talks about her recent work including VIFF Live shows themed around Inside Llewyn Davis and Big Mama Thornton, a Beatles-oriented show called Get Back Unplugged, and the Frank Zappa tribute band Zappostrophe'. LJ is a vocalist who has long performed in the blues tradition while also bringing an omnivorous genre diet to her music. In Port Moody, LJ will perform with Van Django, the genre-bending acoustic quartet of violinist Cameron Wilson, guitarist Budge Schachte, cellist Finn Manniche, and bassist Brent Gubbels. They are frequent collaborators, including on the annual holiday show at the Rogue Folk Club called Cool Yule.
